US HALTS HARVARD’s INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ENROLLMENT: NYT

The Trump administration threatened to halt Harvard’s international student enrollment, according to news reports, due to the university’s refusal to comply with federal demands. These demands included auditing programs perceived as “fueling antisemitic harassment,” restricting the acceptance of international students deemed hostile to American values, and curbing the power of Harvard’s faculty. Harvard refused, stating it would not “surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights,”. 

The move was a major escalation in the administration’s efforts to pressure the college to fall in line with President Trump’s demands.
